In a Geology class students are engaged in a discussion about the three different types of rocks, how they're formed and, more specifically, what types of rocks they're surrounded by. After a discussion, students are given the opportunity to get a closer look at the rocks around them by breaking them open, under close supervision.

Students leave geology with a basic knowledge of how different types of rocks are formed.

...and sometimes a pocketful of rocks.
